Coin Overview

Silver drachm of Dārēv (Darayan I) issued between 132 BC and 100 BC.
This altar type II coin marks a mature stage in the evolution of Persid design, where balance and symmetry define the composition. The depiction of the king before the fire temple under Ahura Mazda captures the harmony between royal devotion and divine presence, a defining feature of Dārēv’s coinage.
