Coin Overview

Silver drachm of Dārēv (Darayan I) issued between 132 BC and 100 BC.
This altar type I coin reflects the early Persid coinage tradition in which royal portraiture and sacred symbolism were closely intertwined. The fire temple scene under Ahura Mazda emphasizes the ruler’s divine association and the spiritual foundation of his authority in Persis.
