Parthian Empire
Osroes II
AR (Silver) | Drachm | A.D. 190
| | 12h
$230.00
Silver drachm of Osroes II struck in AD 190.
This issue continues the Parthian royal typology established in the late Arsacid period, marked by the distinctive tall tiara adorned with pellet decorations. The design embodies the enduring imagery of divine kingship, while the reverse legend, partly Aramaic, partly distorted Greek, reflects the gradual decline of centralized linguistic and political uniformity within the Parthian realm.
